World-class Parliament in Malaysia?
World-class Parliament still a dream
Shortly before the convening of the present Parliament in 2004 and about a year following that, there was a lot of euphoria about a new world-class and independent legislature rising from the ashes of the 10th Parliament. Today, the dream may be in tatters.
It is indeed a dream. Just have a look on recent SEXIST remarks, the Parliamentary privilege is misplaced and abused.

With power comes responsibility. In this case, when the popular saying no longer works, do ourselves a favor by carrying out the constitutional responsibility and remove the people’s representative who abused the power entrusted to them, then only we can dream of having a world class parliament, a legislature with integrity.
Otherwise, a dream will remain a syok sendiri dream, until the day you dozed off for good.
Do we care? We are presenting our Parliament is a place like “………………..(you fill the blank)” in front of the World. Shame or proud? Dare to take it as challenge for better Malaysia?

Apa Parlimen? All decisions are made in UMNO, agreed to by BN and rubber stamped by ‘parlimentarians’. The odd opposition MP is put down if he/she speaks up and of course nothing useful is reported by NST, Uusan, Chinese Press, etc. Instead some UMNO “parliamentarians” try to ‘bocor’ the news that they are also Taliban-types so the local mullahs will ‘order’ people to vote for them. Hidup UMNO.
