Qualified as Municipal Council President?
Yesterday, a news report said there were many red faces at the Penang Municipal Council meeting on Friday (10.11.2006). Why? I think you know why also, if you not, here is the review:
Well, the lady journalist of New Straits Times had lodged a police report after that.
Now, read what the Penang Municipal Council president Datuk Abu Bakar Hassan’s response,
If the dress was not sexy, the incident would not have happened.
“或许衣着不性感,就不会引起偷拍的风波!”
What!? No matter he is JOKING or not, he should not response like this. The young lady journalist is a victim in this case, why she becomes the one to be blamed? I strongly believe that if there is a choice, those journalists will prefer to wear Jean and Shirt to carry out their duties. Those kinds of clothes are much convenient for their outdoor jobs.
Just look the picture below, the young lady journalist showed what she had worn on that day. Is that consider SEXY or too HOT to you?
This is an insultation to women. If he is in the country which practice gender equality; he needs to apology in public no matter he is joking or not.
What’s wrong with a skirt? Can someone draw a UNIVERSAL standard for SEXY clothes? I don’t think that journalist was worn a MINI SKIRT to attend Penang Municipal Council meeting. However, victim sounds like the one should be blamed in this case, it is sad.
He said Penang Municipal Council may apply suits guidelines for those attend the council meeting especially for female in future. Are Malaysians really not CIVILIZED enough to wear their own suits? A mature adult still needs a guideline for his/her suits? Does it means we, Malaysian are not CIVILIZED enough? I’m confused.
What kind of quality of our Municipal councils in whole Malaysia? Who put them in the position? Do Malaysian, voters and tax payers deserve this?
Let’s bet tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, you may read the Penang Municipal Council president says the presses are misquoting his statement on that incident.
NO matter he is joking or not, the lady journalist does not deserve that.

Any leaders who do not know how to accept the misbehaviour of his staffs, reprimand them and apologise do not deserve my respect at all.

5xmom, agree with you.
I doubt when he is in Finland he will loss…Why? Becuase ladies here have a width V cutting on their shirt. So, what he will says then?
No offence here.

When I read his comment on the sexy clothing, I almost fell off my chair !
This is truly a real shame when the real offender did not get into trouble for ‘playing the peeping tom’ but the victim got ‘blamed’ for encouraging him to be a peeping tom ! This is really outrageous… the next thing you might hear would be that every women should adhere to the same dress code… tudung everywhere… arghhhh…. such nonsense ! Ok, perhaps I am being abit presumptious here but let’s wait and see what will happen to the real offender.

Shu, it is really insulting.
The offender not be blamed but the victim. Then, they want implement dress code.
Come on, Malaysian really not CIVILIZED enough to waer their own clothing? The authorities have to come out with such dress code for Malaysian? Local universities already force all students must wear according to dress code issued by the universities admistration. A democracy country? Please don’t make the world laugh at us, what a joke on sunday.
Yang patut buat, tak buat. Yang tidak patut buat, buat semua.
The young lady journalist does not deserve that.

Those uncovered meat was really tempting, so really the men were forced to eat them. If all the Municipal gentlemen turned meat eaters, the uncovered meat are to be blamed. Wow, what a God sent chauvinist. Then, someone wanted to eat minced meat, and tried it out with C4.

Give Latuk of da Halili tribe an inch in the direction of da Talibans, he’ll want a mile in that direction, wouldn’t you think? After all, under his cranium is decided that woman are uncovered meat. To be overboardedly humsup, afterall, is to him and ilks is perfectly also permissible and a male virtue.

These ppl are so lame. In the first place, what we want to wear, is totally up to us as long as we are not in bikinis. I doubt wearing short skirts is to show off sexiness. If one wants to wear short skirts, I am sure she knows how to protect herself from being exposed.
Sometimes, I find them getting more and more irrational and making our political scene in Msia a joke.
