Consumer rights
I’d been thinking buy a floor squeegee few weeks ago. Today, I decided to give it a try while I had my weekly groceries shopping at Anttila supermarket in city centre. When I looked at floor squeegee, I found out there were two different prices for same goods. One price tag was showed 16.90€ and the other one was 16.65€. How much the floor squeegee was? Well, I asked the supermarket staff.
I told him the situation and he came then checked with his bar code reader. From the reader, the floor squeegee is 16.90€ not 16.65€. What happened next?
He removed the cheaper price tag and he offered me for my floor squeegee with that cheaper price (16.65€). I don’t ask to buy my floor squeegee with that price although it is my consumer rights to do so. I appreciated his offer. It showed me they understand and respect about the consumer rights. It was the mistake they had made and they didn’t deny the mistake.
This is not the first time I have encountered with consumer rights matter at here. If you don’t mind, you can refer to these posts in other blog of mine.

I really impress with their attitude about the consumer rights. What I would like to say is I really look forward this kind of attitude in Malaysia. Possible?

Yes it’s possible in Malaysia. But this depends very much on the merchants. There are nice merchants who practice this in Malaysia too. Unfortunately, the number is very small
I hope that Malaysians will exercise their rights as consumers because a lot of merchants just took advantage of the typical “takut” attitude of Malaysians. I know that we have the right to return the things we buy if we found it unsatisfactory for a period of time (how many days … can’t remember … probably 10days maximum).

I’m seeing sparks of good customer service here and there nowadays.
It’s still very rare, but better than none. I’m optimistic.
And make sure I demand for good service nowadays. I hope if enough people push for it, all industries will eventually listen and *cross my fingers* improve. Heh heh!
