December 8: Perception of crime must change 02?

A comment in my previous post entry is telling you what is the fact regarding the so-called perception of crime.

I lived in Petaling Jaya since 1975.
I used to take evening stroll after dinner and I stopped the evening stroll since 2 years ago.
In 2007, both my son and daughter’s cars were stolen outside my house.
My daughter’s car- pool friend were robbed,in my compund, at 6.30am in one morning of the same year.
On 3rd October 2008, 9.30pm, I was robbed by 2 parang welding young boys right infront of my house.
Now, I even have phobia of going out of my house to throw rubbish at night.
I really hope the authorities is telling the truth that they have solved the menace and I can resume my evening stroll outside my house again.

December 2: Perception of crime must change?

Our DPM told us must change our perception of crime. He said this yesterday,

“Based on the statistics given by the police, it indicates that the crime rate in Malaysia is lower than Japan and Hong Kong. It is also just slightly higher than Singapore to the basis of per hundred thousand of population… but the perception of the public is not the case
